Ukraine's way to Eurovision 2005
Before speaking about current events, connected with the preparation and the staging of the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest, let's recall Ukraine's way to Eurovision 2005.
"Kyiv Podium" - Nemiroff Lex: for those who create their own world.
On September 23-26, 2004 with the support of the ТМ Nemiroff Lex, the main haute couture festival in Ukraine took place - the Second International Fashion Festival "Kyiv Podium". Paco Raban, the famous French couturier, was a festival guest and chairman of the judges' panel.
The participation of Nemiroff Lex in this festival of beauty and style was quite natural, as reflected in the motto of the new beverage of high premium class - "For those who create their own world, in which I am Law" (LEX means Law in Latin). Additionally, the vodka Nemiroff Lex has already joined the world of French fashion - its original design was developed by Philippe Seys (the master of the famous French design studio Version Originale).
For four days participants and guests could see mass collections of Ukrainian garment manufacturers and collections of famous Ukrainian and Russian designers. And specialists could take part in showroom and fashion meetings (meeting seminar of designers, trademark representatives, managers of textile enterprises and garment factories).
First within the framework of "Kyiv Podium" was the competition of cruise collections "10х10": each of 10 famous Ukrainian designers presented a collection of 10 costumes. Maestro Paco Raban, the honorary guest of the festival, chaired the "cruise" judges' panel. The greatest spectacle and most conceptual in the opinion of the judges and spectators was the collection by Diana Dorozhina.
Guests of "Kyiv Podium" were able to see a retrospective haute couture collection and the master of avant-garde fashion himself: with the modern version of the Ukrainian song "Tu zh mene pidmanula" (You fooled me) as the background music, and his 11 dresses, with dignity closed the evening show of famous Ukrainian and Russian designers Aina Gasse, Anna Babenko, Roksolana Bohutska, Andriy Sharov, Liliya Pustovit and Alyona Akhmadulina.
Paco Raban summed up the event: "It was a well organized and very interesting competition!"
Besides, during the business meeting with Yakov Gribov, Nemiroff's president, the great designer Paco Raban, who prolonged his visit to Ukraine after the festival, proposed to develop a new exclusive design for the Nemiroff Lex bottle. Maestro Raban said that this is "the best vodka that he has ever tasted". Yakov Gribov considers the limited production of Nemiroff Lex in a bottle from the "couture" a possibility.
